Marielle Way, Flute
Marielle’s vibrant flute playing has led to performances across the United Kingdom at venues such as St Martin in the Fields, National Portrait Gallery, Southbank Centre, King’s Place, Southwark Cathedral, Chapel Royal Brighton, Cheltenham Town Hall, the British Flute Society Convention, and Aldeburgh, Dartington and Arundel Festivals.
Marielle’s concerto appearances include Mozart’s Flute and Harp, J.S Bach’s Brandenburg 4 and Suite in B minor, Poulenc’s Sonata orchestrated by Lennox Berkeley and Christopher Gunning’s Flute Concertino. She is also frequently in demand as an orchestral player, notably with British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Orchestra Nova, New London Orchestra, Locrian Ensemble, City Chamber Ensemble, Blaze Ensemble, Eden Sinfonia Ryedale Festival Opera, Heber Opera and Centenary Opera.
Marielle also has a keen interest in contemporary music. Twice shortlisted as a Park Lane Group Artist with contemporary flute ensemble Ayre Flutes, she performed the UK premiere of Stockhausen’s Wind Quintet at the Aldeburgh Festival in 2009 and in summer 2017 will be touring Denmark with guitarist Paul Gregory, premiering new commissions for flute and guitar.
Marielle trained as a post-graduate at the Royal Academy of Music with Michael Cox and Karen Jones and as an undergraduate at Trinity College of Music with Anna Noakes, where she was the recipient of many prizes including the Philharmonia Orchestra Martin Musical Scholarship, Harold Clarke Woodwind Prize, Jellinek Award and awards from the Newby Trust and EMI Sound Foundation. She also spent a year studying at the Noord Nederlands Conservatorium with Thies Roorda and Wieke Karsten
Now based in Brighton, Marielle balances a varied performing career with a busy teaching studio.

Paul Gregory, Guitar
Paul Gregory started playing guitar at the age of 10. Later he also studied cello and composition in London. He gave his London Wigmore Hall debut when 19. Three years later he won the Andres Segovia International Competition in Spain. As well as a number of solo recordings for Opus 1, Meridian and Claudio Records he has made BBC Radio 3 programmes including live concert broadcasts from Broadcasting House and the Wigmore Hall.
Paul Gregory has been invited to many parts of the world including the Americas and Hong-Kong.
He has been a visiting professor to the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin and a Chief External Examiner for the Royal Scottish Academy in Glasgow.
He has recently given masterclasses at the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music in London and recently the College of Music in Dublin.
Paul plays with flautist Mariel Way in a small chamber group the Carulli Ensemble, as well as in duo.
In 2003 Paul started a small import business ‘Maestoso Music’ providing UK shops with classical guitars.
